Cathedral St Paul - Regensburg
Professor Knowit Hall will take us through a process from start to finish of a painting of St Pauls Cathedral at Regensburg in Bavaria, Germany. It is the seat of the Catholic diocese of Regensburg. The Church is a prime example of Gothic architecture in Bavaria. The Dom St Peter. It was built in the 1300s on the site of other Cathedrals. The first record of a cathedral in Regensburg dates from 700 AD.
Painted by Rob Coetzer in Acrylic and ink. Including a base of texture paste on board
First he started off with a few sketches to get the feel of the layout he desired. Then he strategically pasted on the texture paste to get a feel for the architectural texture. He then continued to create the mood with his amazing sense of colour with ink and Acrylic.
